Do You want to pre-order the next great gaming app on your iPhone, but don’t know how? Apple introduced app orders shortly after releasing the iOS 11.2 software update. In this article, we will show you how to preorder apps on your iPhone and download them as soon as they are released.
Make sure your iPhone is up to date!
Before trying to pre-order an app, make sure your iPhone is updated to at least iOS 11.2. If your iPhone is running an older version of iOS, you will not be able to pre-order apps on your iPhone.
To update your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update and tap Download and install. If iOS 11.2 is already installed on your iPhone, you will see “iOS 11.2 Your software is up to date.”
How to preorder apps on iPhone
To preorder an app on your iPhone, open the App Store and search for the app you want to pre order. There is currently no “Pre-Order Apps” section in the App Store, but you can find a list of apps you can pre-order in the Today section of the App Store.
On the app page, tap Go to the right of the app. You will be asked to confirm the order in advance using your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID depending on your iPhone model.
You’ll notice that the confirmation popup when you pre-order apps is slightly different than when you download them immediately. When you pre-order an app, you’ll see the expected release date, as well as a policy stating that you’ll be charged for the app when it goes live.
After confirming the pre-order, you will see a gray PRE-ORDER button where the download status circle usually appears. The app icon you just ordered will not appear on your iPhone’s home screen .
When am I charged to reserve an iPhone app?
You will not be charged for a pre-ordered iPhone app until the app is released. Also, if the price of the app changes between the time you order it and the day it’s released, Apple will charge you the lower price.
